Michelle’s beautiful and dramatic works are hung in prestigious homes around Sydney, London, New York and Singapore and have appeared in Country Style magazine.
Working in oil paints, acrylics and inks, Michelle employs a bold, yet harmonious colour palette to give her paintings a jewel-like quality.
Nature, including landscapes and flowers feature in Michelle’s paintings and inspire her exploration of colour, line and layering to form depth, passion and emotion. Her paintings are expressions of joy that are designed to create a beautiful statement for any room.
Born in Sydney, Australia, Michelle explored drawing and painting with a precocious curiosity from a very young age. Moving to SE Asia as a child had a real impact on her inspiration and outlook. She returned to Australia to complete her education, working as a textile artist whilst completing a BA in Visual Arts.
Whilst living on a remote cotton farm, Michelle worked with an Aboriginal Artist’s Corporation in Moree. This inspired her to take a Master’s Degree in Archaeology, majoring in Aboriginal Culture. She shared her creative passion by teaching painting and printmaking techniques, promoting Yurundalli to the world during the 2000 Olympics. It was during this time, Michelle developed her unique style of painting and drawing on richly textured fabrics.
Alongside her career as an esteemed artist, Michelle has worked as a pilot for the last 20 years. The amazing views she has enjoyed whilst working for a major Australian airline have inspired her love of nature further and had a dramatic impact on her creativity and painting style. Her work is commissioned worldwide and her exploration of texture continues to develop, using fabrics that have a backstory – tartan from Scotland, Heavy baroque curtains from a movie theatre in Dubbo, NSW and satin from a ball dress from the 1950’s.
When undertaking commissioned paintings, Michelle listens to her client's stories and then paints their picture with her vision.

My first ever “commissioned” painting. I had a vision for a calming blue painting but found it difficult to really express this vision. Michelle asked and listened to me on what I wanted the painting to express and how I wanted it to make me feel... to my pleasure and excitement Michelle captured my emotion and vision in a striking, textured and layered painting that captures my imagination even to this day.
Wanting to create a ‘safe haven’ for my clients was the brief I gave Michelle when I commissioned a large artwork for my clinic. My clients needed to feel safe, calm and confident to share their stories.
‘Reflection’ is the beautiful result achieved. Michelle nailed what I wanted to reflect and more. I love the scale, the colours and the emotional connections the artwork evokes - as do my clients!
